Community Recovery and Nonprofit Support Grants

Purpose

The Community Recovery and Nonprofit Support Grants will support Johnson County nonprofit organizations by providing relief and recovery grants for both program and operational needs. Please note, there are two separate applications – one for program support requests and one for operating support requests. These grants focus on assisting our community in rebuilding and sustaining the important work of our nonprofit organizations who were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The maximum grant award will be $10,000.

Priority will be given to organizations who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We recognize the significant impact of the coronavirus on our community as a whole, as well as particularly on the nonprofit organizations providing important services and programs to our community. We hope this funding will assist in ensuring those services and programs will continue to be provided, however differently they may look.

There are two separate applications – one for program support and one for operating support. Please review the differences in request type detailed below and choose the application which best fits your organization’s needs. ONLY ONE APPLICATION (either program OR operating support) WILL BE ACCEPTED PER ORGANIZATION.

Program Support

These dollars will support a particular program or project serving the Johnson County area.

Focus Areas include: Arts, Culture, and Humanities, Education, Environment and Animals, Human Services, Public and Societal Benefit, and Health.

Examples: community trail/pathway, afterschool program, technology needs for a blood donation center, etc.

Operating Support

These dollars will support the general operations of the nonprofit organization and will not need to be specified for a particular program or project.

Examples: rent, utilities, office supplies, payroll, etc.

Eligibility

Organizations who are eligible for Community Recovery and Nonprofit Support Grants must meet the general eligibility requirements of the Community Foundation. Additionally, organizations must be located in or primarily serve the Johnson County area. Organizations which were financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic will be given priority. Only one application (either program OR operating support) will be accepted per organization.
