JOHNSON CO., Iowa (KCRG) – A federal judge temporarily blocked President Trump’s move to pause federal funding for grants, loans, and assistance programs…This order caused chaos, as programs and agencies were unsure if they were impacted.
“That is the open question right now, is for our sheltering work for our housing work, how long will we be able to continue,” said Director of development of Shelter House, Christine Hayes.
Shelter House isn’t alone. The Community Foundation of Johnson County helps fund hundreds of nonprofits including community crisis and food banks, free medical clinics, free medical clinics, and free and reduced lunch programs.
