This year, the Coldren Fund for Seniors 2025 Grant Cycle awarded five grants for a total of $20,000 to local nonprofit organizations and projects benefiting our aging population in Johnson County.

Coldren Fund for Seniors Grants $20,000

The Coldren Fund for Seniors supports projects and activities that assist Johnson County residents 65+ of limited income. This year, the Coldren Fund for Seniors 2025 Grant Cycle awarded five grants for a total of $20,000 to local nonprofit organizations and projects benefiting our aging population in Johnson County. The following grants were awarded:

  • State University of Iowa Foundation – Smiles for Seniors: Bridging the Dental Care Gap in Johnson County ($5,000)
  • Iowa City Hospice – Patient and Caregiver Emergency Assistance Fund ($5,000)
  • TRAIL of Johnson County – Supported Membership: Addressing the Needs of Low-Income Seniors ($5,000)
  • Friends of lowa City Senior Center – Hearing Accessibility Improvements at lowa City Senior Center ($2,500)
  • Horizons, A Family Service Alliance – Meals on Wheels of Johnson County ($2,500)
