Please join us on Tuesday, September 22 from 5–6:30 p.m. in the Englert Theatre’s second-floor lounge for our Community Conversation on Building a Climate-Ready Future, held as part of Iowa City’s ClimateFest.
Addressing climate change requires collaboration across all sectors of our community. This conversation will highlight sustainability work already underway in Johnson County and bring together local professionals to share recent accomplishments, current projects, and opportunities for our community to become more climate-ready.
Following a panel discussion, participants will have an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about local efforts, and explore ways to get involved in sustainability work throughout Johnson County.
The evening will also mark the opening of a week-long art installation in the Englert’s gallery, featuring a collaborative painting created at the Johnson County Historic Poor Farm and photography by Tyler Baird, Iowa City Superintendent of Parks and Forestry.
Panelists will include representatives from:
- Bur Oak Land Trust
- Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity
- Global Food Project
- Greater Iowa City’s Solar Industry Circle
