CFJC Executive Director, Shelly Maharry, made a guest appearance this week on City Channel 4 and the City of Iowa City’s “Community Connections” video series. Maharry shared the work of the Community Foundation of Johnson County in both internal and external diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. After much reflection, research, training, and learning, the CFJC Board of Directors and Staff have launched the Inclusive Johnson County Fund. Staff and board internal reflection and learning will continue to be a priority alongside the external DEI work of the CFJC. The Inclusive Johnson County Fund is a fund established by the CFJC Board of Directors and Staff which will support all types of diversity, equity, and inclusion work happening in Johnson County. The fund will support efforts of Johnson County nonprofit organizations through grant cycles – the first of which will be opening in July!
To support the work of the Inclusive Johnson County Fund, the CFJC is searching for an individual to help coordinate the Fund’s work in diversity, equity, and inclusion across Johnson County. This individual should be enthusiastic about advancing equity and inclusion, sharing resources and collaborating, and enjoy working on a team. Individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life are encouraged to apply. This position is open for applications until June 30, 2021. Learn more and apply here!
