Great Give Day!

The Community Foundation of Johnson County is pleased to share we are sponsoring our first Great Give Day on Wednesday, November 13, 2019.

The intent of this day is to promote and inspire charitable giving throughout Johnson County.  Donors can make a gift to their favorite charity through the Community Foundation of Johnson County, which will act as the fiscal sponsor for these donations.  After the completion of the Giving Day, the funds will be distributed to the nonprofit organization specified with no administrative fee or credit card processing charge—as our gift to the community.  Donors will receive a tax-deductible gift receipt from the Community Foundation for each gift made.

In addition, there is an opportunity for nonprofit organizations to receive matching funds when an individual donates to their organization.  The Community Foundation will match up to $25,000 in donations made to Johnson County charities on Great Give Day.

Only 501(c)(3) tax exempt organizations which are based in and primarily serve Johnson County will be eligible to participate.

In an effort to provide matching funds to as many organizations as possible, the maximum amount that can be matched for any one donor per nonprofit organization is $1,000.  Additionally, the maximum amount any one nonprofit organization can receive in matching funds is $2,500.  Matching funds will be made available first come, first serve.

We can’t wait to support our local charities by promoting a targeted day of giving while also offering an opportunity for matching funds!

The Great Give Day will take place Wednesday, November 13 (12:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.) during National Philanthropy Week.  Gifts can be made in person, over the phone, and online at www. cfjc.org.
