Heart of Johnson County
Legacy Society

The “Heart of Johnson County Legacy Society” of the Community Foundation of Johnson County (CFJC) is a special group of people, like you, who care deeply about our community and who want to continue their support to the nonprofit organizations and causes which are most meaningful to them. The Society’s name reflects the values, such as kindness, compassion, and empathy, that lead someone to create a legacy to help others. It draws on the saying that “a society grows great when people plant trees in whose shade they know they will never sit”.

Leaving a legacy gift to the CFJC will provide support to future generations and will help to inspire and foster a forward-thinking culture of philanthropy to benefit our community for many years. No gift has a more everlasting impact.

How You Can Join:

It’s simple to join. Just contact Kathryn Wittneben, Director of Philanthropy, and note that you have named the Community Foundation of Johnson County as a beneficiary in your will or other planned gift. We also encourage you to create a legacy fund agreement at the CFJC. This provides instructions to us on how you want your future gift to be used – which nonprofits you want to continue to support and whether you want your family members or others to provide advice on your future gifts. This legacy agreement is revocable; and if you decide to change your list of future nonprofit recipients, you can easily modify this agreement at any time without revising your will.
