Friends of Historic Preservation

Our mission is to honor and value the architectural heritage of Iowa City and Johnson County by preserving and protecting historic buildings and neighborhoods, and by enhancing awareness of the cultural, environmental, and economic benefits of preservation.

Friends of Iowa City Elks

The Elks Lodge is Iowa City’s only private club with an outdoor swimming pool and an award-winning golf course. With over 700 members, we are one of the largest Elks Lodges in the state. The Elks Lodge is open to the public for meetings, private parties, and wedding receptions. Come and sit by our pool, enjoy poolside service, host a birthday party, or try one of our golf leagues instead!

Friends of the Animal Center Foundation

Our purpose is to raise funds to support and expand the animal care services of the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center and fulfill the financial needs of animal welfare initiatives in our community. We seek health, comfort, freedom from fear, and a loving guardian for our companion animals.

Help people reach their full potential through education, training and the power of work. We do that by providing skills for living, job training and a variety of support programs.

Grow: Johnson County

Started in 2015, Grow: Johnson County is a six acre farm located on the Johnson County Historic Poor Farm in Iowa City, Iowa. Grow was created to fill the need for access to fresh and local fruits and vegetables, particularly in food pantries where much of the food readily provided is non perishable.
