HAVlife Foundation of Johnson County awards $20,000 matching grant to support Emergency Response Fund
The HAVlife Foundation of Johnson is committed to helping the community’s nonprofit partners during this difficult and unprecedented time. That’s why they’ve awarded a $20,000 matching grant to the Community Foundation of Johnson County to support our Emergency Response Fund.
In a statement from HAVlife Foundation of Johnson County’s Board Chair, Anne Barber-Nessa, “Although we typically impact youth by helping them go to a sports camp, take music lessons, or attend dance classes— we feel a need at this time to step up and just support their basic necessities for life. We’re happy to partner with the Community Foundation to help support our local organizations.”
How does a matching grant work?
Donors can make tax-deductible gifts to the Community Foundation’s Emergency Response Fund, which will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $20,000 by the HAVLife Foundation. Gifts must be received by April 15 in order to be eligible for the match.
The Community Foundation’s Emergency Response Fund provides grants to nonprofits, schools and units of government experiencing the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. 100% of funds raised will go directly to support nonprofit organizations where they are needed most.
