Heart of Johnson County
Legacy Society

The Heart of Johnson County Legacy Society is a meaningful way to honor those who care deeply about our community and wish to ensure its strength and vitality for generations to come. Members of this special group have made a lasting commitment by including the Community Foundation of Johnson County in their estate plans—supporting the nonprofits and causes that matter most to them.

The name of the Society reflects the values that inspire legacy giving: kindness, compassion, empathy, and a belief in the power of community. It echoes the timeless wisdom:

“A society grows great when people plant trees in whose shade they know they will never sit.”

By leaving a legacy gift to CFJC, you help build a future rooted in generosity and vision. Your gift will support future generations and foster a culture of philanthropy that uplifts our community for years to come. Few gifts carry such enduring impact.

Joining is Simple

Please let us know that you’ve named the Community Foundation of Johnson County as a beneficiary in your will or other planned gift. We also encourage you to create a legacy fund agreement with CFJC. This agreement outlines how you’d like your future gift to be used—whether it’s supporting specific nonprofits or inviting family members or others to help guide your future giving.

Your legacy agreement is revocable and flexible. You can update it at any time without needing to revise your will—ensuring your philanthropic vision can evolve as your passions do.
