Important End of Year Granting & Giving Information

Happy Thanksgiving, Friends!

Right now, many of us are thinking of ways we can support the important work being done by nonprofits in our community. As we approach the end of the year, the Community Foundation of Johnson County is here to help with your granting and giving.

A few reminders:

Stock transfers must be delivered to the Community Foundation’s receiving institution prior to 4 PM on Monday, December 16, 2024, to ensure they will be counted as 2024 gifts. Contact our office for stock transfer instructions. Notify us now of any gifts you plan to make from complicated instruments such as stock, IRA distributions, or electronic fund transfers, as these will require extra time and coordination to arrive at the Community Foundation.

Online gifts can be made until 11:59 PM CST on December 31, 2024. Click here to make your year-end gifts now.

Gifts mailed through USPS must be postmarked by December 31, 2024, to be credited in 2024. Make all gifts payable to “Community Foundation of Johnson County” with the fund name in the memo.

Donor-advised fundholders who wish to make a grant before year-end, please submit your recommendations by Monday, December 16, so they are fulfilled by December 31. You can recommend a grant from your MyFund portal linked here. For more support making grant recommendations, contact Julie Yoder at julie@cfjc.org.

Our office will be open on December 23, 26, 27, 30, and 31. On December 31, we will close at noon. We offer a secure drop-box just outside our office door for off-hour deliveries.

If you are contemplating where to direct your charitable giving, consider our Giving Catalog to support specific requests from Johnson County nonprofits and pool your gift with other donors to make a collective impact. As always, the CFJC team and I are here to answer your questions and share information about areas of need.

Thank you for choosing the Community Foundation of Johnson County as your partner in charitable giving. We appreciate all you do for our community and hope you have a wonderful end to 2024!
