Langhorne Leadership Grants Award $14,300 to 5 Organizations

The Dr. John E. Langhorne Leadership Development Grants were created to celebrate and continue Dr. Langhorne’s legacy of cultivating leadership skills in the Iowa City Area. These grants support charitable programs and projects which offer leadership development to individuals of all ages. Dr. Langhorne believed that every person’s leadership style is unique and ever-changing, and these grants will support a variety of programs which enhance leadership development for individuals.

In this inaugural year of the Dr. John E. Langhorne Leadership Development Grants, 5 organizations were awarded a total of $14,300. The five grantees are listed below with their project names:

  • Open Heartland, Voces al Frente: Immigrant Leadership Development Program
  • The Immigrant Welcome Network of Johnson County, 2026 IWNJC Leadership Academy: Community Leadership Development
  • Dream City, Leadership Development & Organizational Transformation Initiative
  • Iowa City Community School District, Educators Rising
  • North Liberty Community Pantry, Strategic Planning & Leadership Development
