Previously Awarded Community Grants

The grants listed below are a small portion of the total grants made through the Community Foundation of Johnson County. The awards listed below were made through our competitive Community Grants Cycles.

2024 Fall Community Impact Grants

The purpose of this grant cycle was to invest in major projects which substantially increase the quality of life for Johnson County residents through services provided by local nonprofit organizations. There were five $25,000 program support grants awarded.

2023 Community Grants

The 2023 Community Grants supported 61 organizations through 62 grants in both program and operating support. Program support grants fund particular programs and projects at organizations while operating support provides flexible funding for any operational needs of the organization. The 62 awards totaled $365,217 in support to our community’s nonprofits with funding from the CFJC and 27 funding  partners.

2022 Community Grants

The 2022 Community Grants supported 54 organizations through both program and operating support. Program support grants fund particular programs and projects at organizations while operating support provides flexible funding for any operational needs of the organization. The 54 awards totaled $330,192.96 in support to our community’s nonprofits with funding from the CFJC and 21 funding  partners.

2021 Community Grants

The 2021 Community Grants supported 59 organizations through both program and operating support. Program support grants fund particular programs and projects at organizations while operating support provides flexible funding for any operational needs of the organization. The 59 awards totaled $314,446.81 in support to our community’s nonprofits.

2020 Community Recovery & Nonprofit Support Grants

For the 2020 Community Recovery and Nonprofit Support Grants Cycle, the Community Foundation offered both program and operating support requests. Operating support provides flexible funding to be used by the organization for any financial needs including, but not limited to: utilities, rent, programs and services, staff, etc. Program support requests are focused on a specific project or program the organization offers. The CFJC Grants Committee felt offering both of these application types would be beneficial to our nonprofit organizations who have been burdened by increased demands in services and changes in service provision due to the coronavirus pandemic.

2020 Emergency Response Grants

On March 16, 2020, the Community Foundation of Johnson County activated our emergency response fund with a commitment of $25,000 to assist with our community’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.  The Community Foundation awarded $164,871.66 in emergency funding to 35 local nonprofit organizations thanks to the generosity of individuals, families, businesses and charitable foundations who made gifts of support to the Emergency Response Fund.

The Emergency Response Fund provides flexible resources to nonprofit organizations in Johnson County working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by coronavirus and the economic consequences of this outbreak.

2019 Grants Awarded

The 2019 granting program commenced with the annual grant award luncheon on October 16, 2019 the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center. The Community Foundation facilitated the funding of 65 grants to 57 Johnson County nonprofits totaling $312.433.58.
