Grant Process and Timeline

Applications are submitted via our online grant system.

The application period opens on June 24, 2025 and closes at 11:59 pm on July 25, 2025.  All applications will be reviewed by a community selection committee and applicants will be notified of the decision in late August.

Grant awardees will be required to submit a follow-up report on the use of funds by June 30, 2026. Reporting is also completed through the online grant system.

Purpose

The Swisher Community Fund was established in 2005 to support the charitable efforts that make our community stronger, more vibrant, and more connected. Through this fund, we provide financial support to nonprofits and projects that directly benefit the Swisher area and its residents.

Whether you’re working to promote community wellness, education, environmental sustainability, public spaces, or meaningful local engagement — we encourage you to apply.

The Swisher Community Fund 2025 Grant Cycle will support 501(c)3 organizations located in or significantly serving Swisher, Iowa as well as requests from the City of Swisher. The maximum request amount will be $1,500 and requests will be limited to one application per organization.

Additional Information

Eligibility Requirements
  • 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization, Municipality, and/or the College Community School District
  • Located in or significantly serving Swisher, IA

 

Ineligible for Funding
  • Deficit funding or debt retirement
  • Direct financial support to individuals
  • Political or lobbying activities
  • Projects that are not for a charitable purpose
  • Projects or events that have already been completed
  • Religious or sectarian activities that attempt to convert a person to a particular faith or perspective, or social service activities that require participation in such
  • Organizations or activities which do not comply with our nondiscrimination and diversity policy
