Welcome New CFJC Board Members!

The Community Foundation of Johnson County welcomes four new board members to our Board of Directors! Welcome, Dan Wegman, Lynette Jacoby, Melinda Wieland, & Tim Finer!

Our 21-person board is made up of actively engaged leaders who live and work in Johnson County. Our board members volunteer their time and experience to provide organizational leadership, oversight, and guidance which ensures that our community, generous donors, and area nonprofits are given the support they need, now and in the future.

Dan Wegman

Relion Insurance Solutions

Dan was born and raised in Iowa City.  He and his wife, Bobbie, who is also an Iowa City native have three children; Annie, Mollie, and Joey.  Professionally, Dan has worked in multiple areas of the insurance industry over the past 15 years.  He started his carrier on the insurance carrier side and was an underwriter for a number of years in Wisconsin.  He had a desire to move back to Iowa City where he is from and joined Relion Insurance Solutions as a claims advocate.  He now manages the Claims and Loss Control Department, a Business Risk Advisor and Executive Vice President.  He is excited to join the Community Foundation of Johnson County and be a small part of an amazing organization that provides so much support and benefit to our community.

Lynette Jacoby

Johnson County Social Services

Lynette was born and raised in a small community in Northwest Iowa. She moved to Iowa City in the 1980’s to attend the University of Iowa where she completed her BA and MSW.  She then worked at United Action for Youth for over 20 years, implementing and coordinating the Teen Parent and Transitional Living Programs. For the last 11 years, Lynette has served as the Social Services Director for Johnson County. She has been very active in advocacy efforts at the local, state, and national level for several decades. Lynette and her husband Dave have lived in Coralville for 27 years. They have two adult daughters; two rescue Golden Retrievers and one granddog (Yorkie).

Melinda Wieland

Groveland, LLC

In addition to co-founding the Lone Tree Community Foundation in 2001, Melinda also served on the City Council in Lone Tree, IA and completed several philanthropic projects.  Melinda is currently working on Art in the City for the City of Lone Tree with the first project (Cheri’s Window) installation scheduled for July 2022.  Melinda has been a grant writer for over 20 years and uses her marketing and writing skills to bring funding to community betterment projects. Melinda graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in Communications with an emphasis on Pre-Law and has held numerous positions in the community, including owning her own insurance agency and obtaining her Senior Professional in Human Resources. When not working or volunteering, Melinda enjoys boating, fishing and traveling with her husband, kids and friends.  She also enjoys gardening and playing with her two dogs.

Tim Finer

Hills Bank

Tim has participated on many local boards and volunteered for a number of local nonprofit organizations. His professional career has been dedicated largely to Hills Bank, where he has worked for over 38 years. He now serves as Senior Vice President of Lending at Hills Bank. Tim has three children with his wife, Leslie, and the couple also serves our community as foster parents.
