Fall Community Impact Grants
The purpose of this grant cycle is to invest in major projects which substantially increase the quality of life for Johnson County residents through services provided by local nonprofit organizations. There will be five $25,000 grant awards available. Detailed grant cycle and application information can be found here. Applications open on August 1, 2024 and close on August 31, 2024.
Spring Capacity Building Grants
The purpose of this grant cycle is to support the operations, growth, and sustainability of local nonprofit organizations, especially new, grassroots, and BIPOC-led organizations. The maximum request amount will be $2,500. More information including the full grant guidelines for eligibility requirements and detailed application information will be available on or before December 2024.
Inclusive Johnson County Fund Grants
The Inclusive Johnson County Fund is a community-supported fund held at the CFJC which provides financial support for community outreach and education, the promotion of diversity and inclusion within nonprofit organizations, supports cultural events, and more. The fund previously awarded over $20,000 in grants to local organizations. This fund will re-open for granting pending its growth from community contributions. Applications are currently closed.
5224GOOD Housing Insecurity Grants
5224GOOD is a learning and giving circle dedicated to educating their members about philanthropy and community needs in Johnson County through social and networking opportunities. 5224GOOD partners with the Community Foundation of Johnson County (CFJC) to manage the 5224GOOD Charitable Fund and the 5224GOOD Endowed Fund. For 2024, the granting focus area is Housing Insecurity. This year’s grant cycle will support local 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations working to address Housing Insecurity in Johnson County. Coralville Community Fund Grants
The Coralville Community Fund was launched in 2006 to build, invest, and distribute funds for local nonprofit projects that impact Coralville residents. By pooling the resources of many individual gifts and building an endowment fund, the Coralville Community Fund will support a broad range of existing and future charitable projects in the community forever. The 2024 Grant Cycle has closed.
The Community Foundation grants to local nonprofit organizations in six interest areas. These areas are determined by the State of Iowa through the County Endowment Fund Program and enable the CFJC to report our grantmaking accurately. Organizations applying for grants from the Community Foundation can self-identify into one of the following areas.
