Last week, the Food with Love Project was awarded the 2020 Iowa City Area Resiliency Award for a Community Project, which was presented by the Iowa City Area Development Group. The project was nominated by community members who felt the project demonstrated strength and resiliency over the past year.
We are proud to receive this award, and even more proud of our partners for coming together to support food security in our community during this time of uncertainty. The Food with Love Project emergency food assistance program was a true collaboration between local restaurants and nonprofit organizations to meet the immediate food security needs of so many in our community. The project ran from April to July this year, and has created wonderful, lasting partnerships and made a positive impact on our community in a time of great need.
