Welcome New Board Members!

The Community Foundation is excited to welcome five new community leaders to our Board of Directors. Our 21-person board is made up of citizens who live and work in Johnson County and are actively engaged in our communities. Members volunteer their time and experience to provide organizational leadership, oversight, and guidance which ensures that our community, generous donors, and area nonprofits are given the support they need, now and in the future.

The new board members join a team who is committed to the Johnson County community and is dedicated to the donors who put their trust in the Foundation. We are looking forward to a bright future, and their voices from variety of backgrounds will put us in a position to continue to grow and meet the needs of a diverse community.

The new board members include: Kaleb Beining, a University of Iowa Finance Graduate and who established Beining Real Estate Solutions & Acquisitions, an organization dedicated to providing the student housing market with fair and equitable leasing terms; David Bluder, is a community leader and former banker who also has experience as an author, politician, business owner, and investor, as well as former Business Policies professor at the University of Iowa; LaTasha DeLoach,  coordinator of the Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center, holds a social work degree from the University of Iowa and has worked for Johnson County Social Services for the past ten years; Cathy Pugh, a passionate community volunteer and former lawyer with a degree from Indiana University who now uses her skills to negotiate contracts for her real estate clients; and Thais Winkleblack, an involved community member in a number of area organizations and MidwestOne Bank employee since 1998, where she currently serves as a wealth management expert, helping clients understand the connection between financial planning and family relationships.

We cannot wait to see how these new board members use their experience, skills, and knowledge of the Johnson County community to guide our organization to even greater success.
